UN ARRESTO PER L’OMICIDIO DI BOBBY MOFFETT
Arrest over Bobby Moffett murder (UTV)
Police detained a 55-year-old man in the North Belfast area on Saturday morning in connection with the murder of the loyalist.
The man has been taken to Antrim serious crime suite for questioning.
Mr Moffett was gunned down in front of shoppers on the Shankill Road on 28 May 2010.
At the time police branded the killing a “public execution”.
Mr Moffett had been in the Red Hand Commando, the sister organisation of the UVF, and had served time in prison.
A report by the Independent Monitoring Commission said that it believed the murder had been sanctioned by the UVF.
The killing also prompted former MLA Dawn Purvis to resign from the PUP.
At the time she said she could not be expected to answer for what she called “the indefensible actions of others”.
