Meeting a Falls Road, tra gli oratori la figlia maggiore di Colin Duffy
L’incontro si terrà alle 15 di domenica 9 agosto, presso il Conway Education Centre, in Conway Mill, Falls Road, a Belfast.
Gli argomenti all’ordine del giorno saranno l’introduzione dell’internamento preventivo nell’agosto del 1971 e la contemporanea legislazione repressiva applicata dal governo britannico in Irlanda del Nord.
Oltre a Caitríona Duffy, che ha accettato l’invito, saranno presenti Ruhal Ahmed ex detenuto di Guantanamo Bay, Gerry McDonnell internato a Long Kesh e fuggito dagli H-blocks e Pádraigín Drinan avvocato in difesa dei diritti umai e difensore degli uomini ‘incappucciati’.

Caitríona To Speak At A Public Meeting in Belfast (Friends of Colin Duffy)
On the 9th August, there will be a public meeting on Belfast’s Falls Road, focusing on the introduction of internment in August 1971 and the contemporary use of repressive legislation by the British government. Colin’s eldest daughter Caitríona has accepted an invitation to speak at the meeting. Other speakers will include former Guantanamo Bay detainee Ruhal Ahmed, former Long Kesh internee and H-Block escaper Gerry McDonnell and human rights lawyer Pádraigín Drinan, who represented the hooded men. The meeting will start at 3pm on Sunday, August 9 in the Conway Education Centre, Conway Mill, Falls Road, Belfast.
