CASO JEAN McCONVILLE, UN NUOVO ARRESTO

Man arrested over Jean McConville (UTV)

A man has been arrested in connection with the 1972 abduction and murder of Jean McConville.

The 73-year-old was detained by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch in Dunmurry, on the outskirts of west Belfast, on Thursday.

Detective Inspector Neil McGuiness said: “He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.”

Mrs McConville, a 37-year-old widow and mother of 10 children, was abducted in December 1972 from her flat in the Divis area of west Belfast and shot by the IRA, becoming one of the so-called Disappeared. Her body was recovered on a beach in Co Louth in August 2003.
