MASSEREENE TRIAL. RIFLETTORI PUNTATI SU UNA CHIAMATA REGISTRATA

Massereene murders trial told of phone messages (BBC News Northern Ireland)

The Massereene murders trial has been hearing about a voice message recovered from the message bank of a mobile phone found in the alleged getaway car.
Colin Duffy and Brian Shivers deny murdering Sappers Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London and Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham, at the Army base in 2009.
In the message at least two men are heard speaking.
One of them said: “There was a few dead all right.” Another said: “Boys, you were cool as ****.”
The prosecution barrister read from the phone records which showed the phone was a pay as you go type, the owner had not been registered and the call recorded had been made from the same phone to its own message bank.
She said the call had been made at 21:40 GMT shortly after the attack on Masserene barracks.
Records showed that a message reminder text sent seconds later was located at Carngranny – which is understood to be a townland in County Antrim.
The two soldiers were shot dead as they collected pizzas outside the base in Antrim in March 2009, the night before they were due to leave for Afghanistan.
As well as the murder charges, Mr Duffy, 44, from Lurgan and Magherafelt man Mr Shivers, 46, both deny six charges of attempted murder and one of possession of guns and explosives.
