L’autobomba che ha ucciso l’agente della PSNI Ronan Kerr, si crede sia stata stata assemblato dallo stesso ‘fabbricatore di bombe’, coinvolto in almeno altri tre tentativi di attentato.
L’Irish News di oggi, riporta una testimonianza esclusiva di Allison Morris, in cui riferisce che il Semtex utilizzato nell’uccisione di Kerr a Omagh, il 2 aprile, corrisponderebbe alle partite di materiale esplosivo recuperato nella zona di East Tyrone, la scorsa settimana.
Si ritiene che lo stesso materiale sia stato utilizzato anche in un attacco contro l’auto di un maggiore dell’esercito britannico nella contea di Down lo scorso anno, nell’attentato che ha visto l’agente della PSNI – Peadar Heffron – perdere la gamba nel gennaio 2010 e nell’attentato contro l’auto del un addestratore di cani della PSNI a East Belfast, nell’ottobre 2009.
Nessuno ha ancora rivendicato l’attacco a Constable Kerr, ma si sospetta che i repubblicani sono coinvolti.

Single bombmaker suspected in Ronan Kerr murder (The Journal)
The car bomb that killed PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr is believed to have been made by the same bombmaker who has been involved in at least three other bombing attempts.
Today’s Irish News carries an exclusive story by Allison Morris, in which she reports that the Semtex used in the Constable Kerr killing in Omagh on 2 April matches explosive material found in east Tyrone last week.
It is believed that the same material was also used in an attack on the car of a British army major in Co Down last year, in an attack which saw PSNI officer Peadar Heffron lose his leg in January 2010 and in an attack on the car of a PSNI dog handler in est Belfast in October 2009.
No-one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack on Constable Kerr but it is suspected that dissident republicans are involved.
