FALSO ALLARME BOMBA CAUSATO DA UN MEMBRO DELLE FORZE ARMATE BRITANNICHE
Sotto i riflettori Diana Westley, al centro di un procedimento penale presso la Lisburn Magistrates Court
E’ stata Diana Westley, 47 anni anni, membro delle forze armate britanniche, alla regia di un falso allarme bomba nella periferia di West Belfast.
Una fedina penale di cui certo non andare orgogliosi, la sua.
La donna fu inizialmente accusata di intimidazione lo scorso settembre. A subire le violenze tra il 1 Marzo e il 31 agosto 2010, la ventisettenne vicina di casa, Kathleen Reilly.
Ai precedenti si sono poi aggiunti altri 6 capi di accusa tra cui si elencano: danni penali, 2 accuse per incendio doloso con lo scopo di ledere la vita altrui, minaccia di morte nei confronti di Kathleen Reilly e di suo figlio. Diana Westley sta affrontando ora l’imputazione di falso allarme bomba a Redwood Dale, Dunmurry.
L’accusa ha richiesto ai giudici della Lisburn Magistrates Court, 4 settimane di tempo per valutare approfonditamente il caso. Gli avvocati della difesa invece, sostenendo che la loro assistita “sente lo stress e la pressione” del caso, hanno richiesto che il procedimento penale venga aggiornato al 1 Marzo.
Diana Westley resta in regime di libertà vigilata, a condizione che risieda presso la base armata di Aldergrove.

Hoax-bomb alert accused is member of armed forces (The Irish News)
A woman believed to be a membro of the British armed forces has been charged with causing a hoax bomb alert on the outskirts of West Belfast.
Diana Westley, of Prospect Drive, Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, also faces seven other charges, including harassment and three offences of making threats to kill.
The 47-year-old – who previously appeared as Diane Westley, of Redwook Dale, Dunmurry – was initially charged with harrassment and making a threat to kill in September.
However, six further charges have since been put to her.
Lisburn magistrates court heard in September that Ms Westley was charged with harrassing a neighbour beween March 1 and August 31 2010.
She was further charged with making a threat to kill on June 6 2010.
It is understood the charges relate to her nighbour, 27-year-old Kathleen Reilly.
However, Ms Westley now faces a further six charges including criminal damage, 2 counts of arson endangering life with intent, a further count of making a threat to kill Ms Reilly’s son.
Ms Westley is also charged with placing an article causing a bomb hoax at Redwood Dale, Dunmurry on august 17 last.
Ms Westley appeared before Lisburn Magistrates Court yesterday.
A prosecution lawyer asked the court for four more weeks to consider the case.
A defence solicitor said his client was “feeling the stress and pressure” of the case and asked for the court to be updated again on March 1.
Ms Westley remains on continuing bail on the condition she resides at Aldergrove military base.
