Le missive sono state intercettate dal personale della Royal Mail presso la sede di smistamento a Mallusk

Il Police Service of Northern Ireland è stato chiamato a rapporto il giorno 5 gennaio presso la sede di smistamento della Royal Mail a Mallusk, contea di Antrim.
Quì membri del personale hanno intercettato due lettere all’attenzione dell’allenatore del Celtic, Neil Lennon, e di uno dei suoi giocatori, Niall McGinn. Entrambe riportavano come indirizzo di destinazione la sede del Celtic FC a Glasgow.
I proiettili sono stati sequestrati dalla PSNI e sono in corso le indagini.
Per Neil Lennon non si tratta della ‘prima’ esperienza di questo genere. L’allenatore era già stato oggetto di minacce di morte in passato. Interpellato sull’accaduto dai giornalisti, Lennon ha dichiarato: “Non voglio rilasciare commenti in merito”.
Un portavoce del Celtic, dimostrando chiaramente l’intenzione di voler chiudere in fretta la questione, ha riferito: “E ‘ormai una questione di polizia e il club non ha altre osservazioni da fare.”

Bullets package sent to Celtic boss (Belfast Telegraph)
Packages containing bullets have been sent from Northern Ireland to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and player Niall McGinn.
The packages, addressed to the two men, were intercepted by staff at the Royal Mail sorting office in Mallusk, County Antrim, last week.
The mail was bound for Celtic football club in Glasgow.
Police in Northern Ireland said officers were called to Mallusk office on January 5 after postal workers reported suspicions about two items of mail.
The items were removed for further examination, and police are investigating the incident.
A spokesman for Celtic said: “It is now a police matter and the club has no further comment to make.”
Police are investigating the incident and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
Celtic winger McGinn is also a Northern Ireland international player.
Lennon, a former Northern Ireland international, has received death threats in the past.
