Concern over money PSNI pay informers (U TV)
Figures obtained by UTV show that in the past year the cost to the police service was £405,000 compared to a £250,000 the previous year.
Raymond McCord whose son was murdered by a UVF gang in north Belfast, which included paid police agents, is concerned dissident republican informers could be getting money while committing terrorist crimes.
“I would be concerned how it is being spent and who is receiving it,” he said.
“Are we still going back to old days of Mark Haddock receiving £80,000 and people like him?
“No-one seems to know if it is still going on, no-one seems to be accountable for this,” he added.
