L’agente della PSNI rimasta vittima di un attentato l’8 gennaio scorso, ha imboccato la strada del recupero

Peadar Heffron, 33 anni, ha abbandonato il reparto di terapia intensiva del Belfast Health and Social Care Trust per iniziare il proprio percorso di recupero.
Aveva subito l’amputazione della gamba destra pochi giorni dopo quell’8 gennaio, quando un’ordigno esplose sotto la sua auto a Randalstown mentre si stava dirigendo al lavoro.
L’agente della PSNI, in attività da 10 anni, è un esperto di lingua irlandese e capitano di una squadra del GAA.
Un investigatore impiegato nelle indagini sull’attentato, non esclude un collegamento con un altro attentato avvenuto lo scorso hanno che ha ‘mancato’ l’obiettivo coinvolgendo la compagna di un ufficiale della PSNI a Belfast.

A police officer who lost a leg in a dissident republican car bomb attack last month has been moved out of intensive care.
Constable Peadar Heffron’s right leg was amputated just days after the bomb exploded under his car in Randalstown on 8 January.
The 33-year-old Catholic is an Irish language specialist for the PSNI and is also the captain of its GAA team.
The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust confirmed he had been moved.
Constable Heffron has been a PSNI officer for 10 years and was recently married.
He had been on his way to work at Woodbourne police station in west Belfast and it is believed he had driven about a mile from his home when the bomb exploded on the Milltown Road.
A detective investigating the bombing said they were not ruling out a link to a car bomb attack on a police officer’s partner in east Belfast last year.
