Disorder breaks out in east Belfast (UTV)
Missiles have been thrown during serious disorder that has broken out in east Belfast.
Bricks, bottles and other items have been thrown between rival groups who have gathered in the area of the Lower Newtownards Road.
Police officers in riot gear are at the scene.
“Police are currently dealing with public disorder in the lower Newtownards area of east Belfast,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
“The road is closed to traffic and motorists are advised to use an alternative route.”
“Police are appealing for calm and asking for strong leadership for all parties.”
An Orange march has continued to parade on the road.
There is also serious disorder ongoing in north Belfast after an Orange feeder parade was prevented from passing the Ardoyne shopfronts.
