L’ex leader dell’UDA potrebbe essere stato l’obiettivo di un attentato sventato a Newtownabbey

Non si hanno certezze, ma la PSNI è convinta che Andre Shoukri, recentemente tornato in libertà, possa essere stato considerato obiettivo di un attentato. Nella giornata di ieri una pipe bomb e due litri di liquido infiammabile sono stati rivenuto presso un’abitazione in Glenvarnagh Drive a Ballyhenry. Rivenuti anche 2 passamontagna nel bagno di casa.
Diverse abitazioni sono state ieri subito evacuate, così gli artificieri hanno potuto provvedere a disinnescare il dispositivo in sicurezza.
Andre Shoukri sarebbe stato avvistato nell’area di Ballyhenry dopo il suo rilascio.

High-profile loyalist Andre Shoukri may have been the intended target for a blast bomb device found in Newtownabbey.
The incendiary containing a pipe-bomb and two litres of flammable liquid was found at a house in Glenvarnagh Drive, Ballyhenry, yesterday afternoon.
A number of other houses had to be evacuated while Army bomb experts made the device safe. Two balaclavas were also found in the bathroom of the house, which is close to a local primary school.
Shoukri, who was expelled as UDA ‘brigadier’ several years ago, was recently released from prison where he was serving a sentence for extortion and blackmail.
It is understood he has been seen in the Ballyhenry area in recent weeks.
