L’Irish Freedom Committee (IFC) ha divulgato tramite il servizio di newsletter, una email ricevuta dal comitato a sostegno di Pòl Brennan. Sembra infatti esserci un barlume di speranza. Il suo avvocato ha comunicato che la tattica di contattare i politici di Washington ha avuto effetto.  Pòl Brennan per il momento non dovrà lasciare gli Stati Uniti.
La decisione definitiva sulla “Richiesta di Sospensione dell’Estradizione” (Request for Stay of Deportation) è stata relegata alle autorità superiori che paiono intenzionate a prendere tempo.
Il comitato chiede ai sostenitori nel proseguire nella tattica fino ad ora perseguita.
“La pressione politica ha iniziato ad avere peso, e ora non è il momento di rallentare, ma di andare avanti con maggiore fervore di prima!”.

Subject: Fw: Glimmer of Hope for Pol, Please act Now!
Word received late yesterday from Pol and his attorney suggests that our tactic of calling Washington politicians is having an effect! Pol was told yesterday (his scheduled deportation day) that he would not go anywhere yesterday OR today! A DHS manager in San Antonio had been given the responsibility to rule on Pol’s “Request for Stay of Deportation.” He has since been relieved of this duty and it has been relegated to higher authorities. While the “Request for Stay of Deportation HAS NEITHER been approved or denied, there has been sufficient pressure to cause DHS to take their time in rendering a decision.
Please take time TODAY to call the elected representatives in the message below and encourage your members to do the same. Also, please share this with other organizations and individuals you know to be supportive. In addition to your own Senators and Congressional Representatives, please express yourselves and add your voice to those noted below who have expressed support for Pol; t will only build their support, embolden then to take stronger and stronger action, and help the cause even more! Calls to Obama, Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and DHS Director Napolitano are all fair play at this point in time… political pressure has begun to take it’s role, and now is NOT the time to relent, but to move forward with greater fervor than before!
Thanks you all for what you’ve done and continue to do – it is evident that our efforts are causing some in Washington to re-think a position not given much of an ear before.
