E’ successo nell’area del Bogside di Derry all’1 di notte. La casa di proprietà di Mitchel Mclaughlin, esponente del Sinn Fein, è stata attaccata con 2 bombe molotov. Solo danni e nessun ferito.
La polizia invita chiunque abbia visto 3 uomini allontanarsi dal luogo del incidente, a collaborare con la polizia.
E’ la seconda volta nell’arco di un mese che la casa di Mclaughlin viene attaccata. Nell’occasione precedente venne rotto il vetro di una finestra.
L’esponente del Sinn Fein, ha condannato quest’ultimo attentato come un chiaro “tentato omicidio”.
“Ancora una volta dei vigliacchi sono arrivati nel buio della notte e hanno attaccato la mia casa nel tentativo di intimidire me e la mia famiglia. La differenza è  che questa volta hanno tentanto di incendiare la mia abitazione con bombe molotov senza alcun riguardo per chi si trovava all’interno in quel momento.”
Il vice Primo Ministro Martin McGuinness, rivolgendosi diretta a l portavoce Gary Donnelly, ha dichiarato che il 32 County Sovereignty Movement, che ha rivolto minacce al Sinn Fein, dovrebbe dare delle spiegazioni in merito a queste attività criminose.

SF man’s house attacked (NewsLetter)
THE home of a prominent Sinn Fein MLA has been the target of a petrol bomb attack.
According to police, two devices were thrown at the Londonderry property belonging to senior republican, Mitchel Mclaughlin, at approximately 1am on Monday morning.
The petrol bombs caused scorch damage to the dwelling in the Bogside area of the city and four people inside escaped uninjured.
A police spokesperson said they are particularly keen to speak to anyone who witnessed three men seen running away from the scene.
It is the second time within a month that Mr Mclaughlin’s home has been targeted. A window was broken at the property in a previous incident.
Mr McLaughlin, who represents the South Antrim constituency, condemned the petrol bomb attack as “attempted murder”.
He said: “Once more cowards came in the dark of night and attacked my home in an attempt to intimidate me and my family.
“The difference this time was that they attempted to set my home on fire with petrol bombs with no regard for anyone who was in the house at the time.”
