The Five Demands

Per il momento il PSNI non si esprime sulle dichiarazioni Real IRA rilasciate lunedì scorso (13 aprile 2009), durante la commemorazione dell’Easter Rising organizzata dal 32 CSM al Creggan Cemetery di  Derry.
Un rappresentante del Real IRA, con il viso coperto, ha letto la dichiarazione di Pasqua (Easter Statement ndr) davanti a 200 persone, in cui si sono toccati alcuni punti fondamentali, quali: l’esultanza per l’attentato messo a segno presso la base armata di Massereene, la rivendicazione dell’omicidio di Denis Donaldson nel 2006, il diritto di prendere ‘provvedimenti’ nei confronti di chi si comporti da nemico e le minacce di morte nei confronti di Martin McGuinness (Vice Primo Ministro nordirlandese) e degli agenti del PSNI.
Niente di nuovo, dato che la dichiarazione era stata resa nota il giorno precedente dal Sunday Tribune.
Il PSNI ha rifiutato di esplicare se e quali azioni saranno intraprese in merito.

Police consider response over Real IRA speech (News Letter)
The PSNI is remaining tight-lipped about what follow-up action it might take regarding a public Real IRA address which gloated at the murder of two soldiers in Antrim.
The full text of the speech at the Creggan cemetery Easter commemoration was trailed in a Sunday newspaper last weekend as part of a preview for the event.
Authorities therefore had at least 24 hours notice that a Real IRA representative would publicly:
– Gloat at the murder of two soldiers at Masserene army base in Antrim last month.
– Claim the murder of Sinn Fein member Denis Donaldson in 2006 for working as a British agent.
– Reserve the right to “execute anyone providing services in any shape or form to the enemy”.
– Threaten the lives of all serving PSNI members.
– Threaten the life of Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and all other Irish “traitors”.
The masked Real IRA man in full combat gear emerged from a cheering 200-strong crowd at the 32 County Sovereignty Committee event on Monday in Londonderry. Petrol bombs were also carried in plain view by masked youths, but there was no visible policing.
Police declined to discuss what follow-up action might be taken. A spokeswoman said the matter was being fully investigated.
