IL SILENZIO DELLA PARADES COMMISSION SULLA ‘INCHIESTA ARDOYNE’

Parades Commission silent on Ardoyne inquiry (NewsLetter)
The Parades Commission has declined to say whether it would support an inquiry into the parades situation in north Belfast.
Unionists – who broke off contact with the quango in July after it again stopped the return Orange parade past the Ardoyne shops – have been pressing the Secretary of State to set up a commission of inquiry into the impasse.
When asked by the News Letter whether it would support such a move, the commission said in a statement: “The commission’s main role is to consider parades and parade-related protests and to issue determinations as it considers necessary. The commission does not publicly comment on political proposals around the broader issue of parading.”
