Marian McGlinchey cases adjourned over illness (BBC News Northern Ireland)

Two cases of alleged terrorist activity against a veteran republican have been adjourned because she is in hospital.

Marian McGlinchey, 58, from Stockmans Lane in west Belfast, is on bail facing charges of providing property, namely a mobile phone, for a terrorist purpose.

The charge arose from the investigation into the murders of two soldiers who were shot outside Massereene Barracks.

In a separate case she is accused of aiding a meeting in support of a proscribed organisation, the IRA.

The cases have been relisted at Belfast Crown Court for next Wednesday.

Defence counsel was granted adjournments due to Mrs McGlinchey’s ill health.

The lawyer further applied for a reporting restriction that would bar the media from taking, recording or publishing McGlinchey’s image, arguing that the one-time IRA bomber is living under a death threat.

The judge said he would rule on this on Monday.

Mrs McGlinchey served a jail sentence along with her late sister Dolours Price for the 1973 IRA bomb attack on the Old Bailey in London.

Her licence was revoked in 2011 and she spent two years in custody before she was finally released earlier this year.
