Un centinaio di riottosi in strada a Newtownabbey. Incendiati un autobus e un’automobile

Dettagli frammentari parlano di un centinaio circa di giovani scesi in O’Neill Road, nei pressi di Rathcoole, lanciando razzi, pietre e bottiglie approcciandosi a veicoli della PSNI.
Nello scontro un autobus e un’auto sono stati dati alle fiamme.
Ken Wilkinson – rappresentante UUP, partito legato all’Ulster Volunteer Force – ha sottolineato che i disordini sono probabilmente riconducibili alle tre perquisizioni nell’area effettuate dalla PSNI negli ultimi giorni.

A bus and car have been burnt out during disorder in Newtownabbey.
About 100 youths have gathered at the Cloughfern roundabout at the bottom of the O’Neill Road and have thrown stones at approaching police vehicles.
BBC Radio Ulster’s Will Leitch, reporting from the scene, described the situation as “tense”.
It is understood there were a number of police raids in the area earlier on Monday. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
