Riscontrato un incremento del 14% rispetto all’anno precedente

Le cifre  sono state rivelato su richiesta della BBC sulla base del Freedom of Information Act. La testata giornalista ha preso contatti con 52 forze di polizia in tutto il Regno Unito e 43 sono state le risposte ricevute.
Trecentosessantasei agenti di polizia su tutto il territorio sono stati oggetto di tre o più denunce da parte di membri della comunità, per un totale di 5069.
I dati più significativi riguardano la PSNI con 3500 pratiche aperte nei confronti di suoi agenti, 14% in più rispetto allo scorso anno.
Lo scorso luglio il Police Ombudsman Al Hutchinson aveva affermato che il numero di reclami contro gli ufficiali di polizia aveva raggiunto il numero più alto in otto anni.

PSNI has most multiple complaints, survey says (BBC News Northern Ireland)
The figures were obtained as a result of a Freedom of Information request by the BBC
Three hundred and seventy six police officers in Northern Ireland have been the subject of three or more allegations from members of the public.
The figure emerged in a BBC survey about police complaints. The BBC requested the information from 52 UK police forces, 43 of which responded.
The PSNI figure is the highest of those which provided statistics.
In all, more than 2,000 officers across the UK have been complained about three or more times.
There were a total of 5,069 allegations against officers.
The figures, obtained through a Freedom of Information request, do not contain details of how many of the complaints were substantiated.
In July, Northern Ireland’s Police Ombudsman Al Hutchinson said the number of complaints about police officer
s’ conduct was at its highest level in eight years.
The 3,500 allegations were an increase of 14% on the previous year.
