Furgone sospetto parcheggiato nei pressi della stazione di polizia di Keady

L’allarme sicurezza è scattato alle 9.30 circa di questa mattina, solo 3 ore dopo il rinvenimento di un veicolo sospetto parcheggiato nelle vicinanze della stazione del Police Service of Northern Ireland di Keady.
“Questo furgone è stato abbandonato davanti alla stazione della Psni a Keady e credo che la polizia fosse a conoscienza dell’incidente già dalle  6:25 di questa mattina, ma alle 9.25 l’area non era ancora stata cordonata”, ha dichiarato un furente Thomas O’Hanlon, sindaco di Armagh.
“I veicoli sono transitati nelle vicinanze del  furgone sul tragitto verso i luoghi di lavoro e  delle scuole. Questo collegamento è un incrocio trafficato e non è accettabile che le automobili siano state fatte passare nei pressi di quello che è un potenziale rischio di sicurezza. Credo anche che una macchina è trovata bruciata a Derrynoose possa essere collegabile a questo incidente”.
Al momento dell’allerta, la stazione di polizia era vuota.

A suspicious van has been abandoned outside a Co Armagh police station.
Army technical officers are currenly examining the vehicle in the vicinity of Keady PSNI station.
According to a senior councillor in the area, police knew about the incident since the early hours of Friday but did not cordon the area off for almost three hours.
Mayor of Armagh Thomas O’Hanlon said: “This van has been abandoned outside the PSNI station at Keady and I believe the police have known about the incident since 6.25am this morning but had yet to cordon off the area by 9.25am.
“Vehicles are driving past the van on their way to work and on the school run. This junction is a busy cross-border route and it is not acceptable that cars are driving past what is a potential security risk. I also believe that a car has been found burnt out at Derrynoose which may be linked to this incident.
The SDLP man condemned those behind the alert.
The police station at Keady is believed to be empty.
