Un giudice di Belfast dovrà oggi decidere se Suzanne Breen, giornalista del Sunday Tribune, dovrà esibire in seduta privata il materiale in suo possesso proveniente da fonti Real IRA.
Il PSNI aveva concesso 7 giorni di tempo alla giornalista, che ha però rifiutato di collaborare perchè ciò infrangerebbe il codice di etica giornalistica e soprattutto metterebbe a serio rischio la sua incolumità.
Pieno l’appoggio fornito dal National Union of Journalists a Suzanne Breen, che ha ricevuto le rivendicazioni Real IRA dopo gli attentati commessi nel mese di marzo.

A judge in Belfast is due to rule this morning on whether a police demand that a journalist should hand over material can be heard in private.
The PSNI is attempting to compel Sunday Tribune Northern Editor Suzanne Breen to hand over material linked to recent articles about the Real IRA.
She had been given seven days to comply but refused saying her life could be in danger if she were to agree to the PSNI’s request.

She has received the backing of her newspaper and the National Union of Journalists.
On Friday, a judge heard evidence under oath from a police officer.
Ms Breen received the Real IRA’s claim of responsibility for the murder of two British soldiers in Antrim in March.
