FRAZER IN ARRESTO, BRYSON RICERCATO: “NON HO COMMESSO ALCUN CRIMINE”

Flag protests ‘not a crime’ – Bryson (UTV)

Ulster People’s Forum spokesman Jamie Bryson, who is wanted by police for questioning over the flags protests, has told UTV that he has no intention of handing himself in to the PSNI.

PSNI: No warrant issued for Bryson’s arrest (News Letter)

THE PSNI have said that no warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jamie Bryson, after the flag protest speaker said he would not hand himself in.

In an evening news report it was claimed that the chairman of the Ulster People’s Forum had ‘come out of hiding’ to give an interview.

“I have not committed any crimes. All I have done is exercise my right to peaceful and democratic protest – I’ve not been involved in any rioting or any violence,” he told UTV.

“Gerry Kelly met Matt Baggott last night and he asked him to arrest people. He said that on his Twitter. Then this morning, the police tried to arrest me and Willie.”

But the PSNI has told the News Letter: “There has been no warrant issued for anyone today – not in relation to Operation Dulcet [flag protest investigation] anyway.”

It is understood the PSNI want to speak to Mr Bryson over the public disorder linked to the flag demonstrations.
