FERITI 4 POLIZIOTTI DOPO PARATA A EAST BELFAST

Police injured after Somme commemoration parade in Belfast (BBC News Northern Ireland)

Four police officers were injured when bottles and fireworks were thrown at them in east Belfast.

The disturbances followed the annual Somme commemoration parade on Monday night.

The parade passed off without incident but crowds gathered afterwards in Castlereagh Street, the Albert Bridge Road and Mountpottinger Road.

The officers sustained minor injuries. Ten people were arrested for a range of offences.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesperson said community representatives had worked with police to dissolve tensions but trouble erupted in Castlereagh Street.
