DERRY. RUBATE E DATE ALLE FIAMME CORONE DI POPPIES
Le corone di poppies (poppy wreaths) deposte al monumento dei caduti nel giorno del “Remembrance Sunday” sono state bruciate al Free Derry Corner all’alba di mercoledì
Disgusto e disprezzo per il gesto di persone che non dimostrano rispetto per i caduti, è il sentimento espresso dall’unionista William Hay (MLA del Democratic Unionist Party). “E ‘difficile comprendere la mentalità di chi farebbe questo”, ha detto.
In un comunicato di condanna, la Royal British Legion, si è detta delusa dal fatto che le corone siano state date alla fiamme al Free Derry Corner, con l’intento di collegare la comunità all’atto vandalico. Un chiaro tentativo di accrescere le tensioni, come sottolineato da Mickey Cooper, assessore dello Sinn Fein.
