Avviati i controlli sui risultati dell’inchiesta sulla morte di Rosemary Nelson

Il governo ha comfermato l’inizio della verifica finale sul rapporto redatto al termine dell’inchiesta sull’omicidio di Rosemary Nelson.
Sig. Paterson ha dichiarato: “In previsione della pubblicazione della relazione dell’inchiesta  Rosemary Nelson, ho chiesto a un gruppo di funzionari di iniziare la verifica del rapporto sull’indagine, in relazione ai diritti umani e questioni di sicurezza nazionale”.
La tanto attesa pubblicazione, che dovrebbe dimostrare la collusione dei servizi di sicurezza nell’assassinio, dovrebbe avvenire entro la fine di aprile. Rosemary Nelson, 40 anni all’epoca dei fatti, rimase vittima di una bomba esplosa sotto la sua auto il 15 maggio 1999. L’attentato fu rivendicato dal lealista Red Hand Defenders.

Final legal checks are being carried out on the findings of a public inquiry into the murder of Northern Ireland solicitor Rosemary Nelson, the Government has confirmed.
The inquiry team had already said it hoped to have its long-awaited report into the allegations of security force collusion in the killing completed by the end of April.
Secretary of State Owen Paterson said Government lawyers are beginning their review of the inquiry’s report to ensure its contents do not endanger any individual or compromise national security.
Mrs Nelson (right), a 40-year-old mother-of-three, died after a bomb planted by the loyalist Red Hand Defenders exploded under her car in Lurgan, Co Armagh, on March 15, 1999.
Mr Paterson said: “In anticipation of the publication of the report of the Rosemary Nelson Inquiry, I have asked a team of officials to commence the checking of the inquiry’s report in relation to human rights and national security matters.”
