Stato di allerta scattato dopo il ritrovamento di un dispositivo sospetto all’interno del recinto perimetrale della stazione di polizia in Crumlin Road. L’ordigno è stato giudicato ‘letale’.

Allarme scattato alle 10.30 di oggi 8 settembre dopo il ritrovamento di un ordigno sospetto nei pressi della stazione del Police Service of Northern Ireland in Mill Road.
Chiuso al traffico il tratto stradale tra Crumlin Road e Main Street, evacuate a scopo precauzionale le abitazioni che si trovano nelle vicinanze e la Crumlin Primary School ubicata in posizione opposta alla stazione di polizia.
Elicotteri e agenti del corpo artificieri hanno collaborato per mettere in sicurezza l’intera area. L’ordigno giudicato ‘letale’ è stato rimosso per ulteriori indagini.
Solo in seguito l’ispettore capo Simon Walls ha dichiarato ha dichiarato: “Si è trattato di un dispositivo letale concepito con la chiara intenzione di far del male o uccidere gli ufficiali che prestano servizio nella comunità locale”.

Device found at Crumlin PSNI station (U TV)
A primary school has been evacuated after a suspicious device was found inside the perimeter fence of the Crumlin PSNI station on Wednesday morning.
Crumlin Primary School, which is near the station on Mill Road, and a number of homes in the village were evacuated after the alert was raised at around 10.30am.
The suspect device is being examined by army bomb squad officers, while a police helicopter is carrying out an aerial examination of the surrounding area.
It is understood the vehicle landed a short time ago in the school grounds to relay video information to the bomb squad.
People evacuated from their homes have been moved to a nearby community centre while the alert is ongoing.
Mill Road has been closed between Crumlin Road and Main Street.
