Una famiglia senza casa e un pompiere ferito, il bilancio di un incendio innescato da un bonfire

La chiamata ai vigili del fuoco è giun te alle 6.15 di questa mattina dopo che un bonfire acceso nell’area di East Mount ha innescato incendi a catena.
“L’incendio ha danneggiato due serbatoi di petrolio che erano nei cortili delle case, e le fiamme hanno coinvolto tutte e tre le case, ma uno è stata gravemente danneggiata”, ha dichiarato il comandante dei vigili del fuoco.
Un pompiere ha riportato lievi ferite, curate sul posto.

Bonfire burns down Newtownards home (U TV)
A firefighter has been injured and a family left homeless following a blaze in Newtownards which started after flames from a bonfire spread to nearby properties on Friday.
Emergency crews were called after the fire took hold at a hut beside the bonfire in the East Mount area around 6.15am.
Flames then spread to a fence which backed onto three houses in Ringhaddy Avenue rupturing two oil tanks.
“The fire damaged two oil tanks which were in the yards of the houses, we then had a running oil fire which involved all three houses but one was very badly damaged”, Group Commander Denver said.
“One firefighter who attended the blaze suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the ambulance service”, he added.
One local man told UTV how he tried unsuccessfully to stop the blaze from spreading.
“It’s just terrible, the folks are on holiday and are due back today, as yet I dont even know if they what has happened here”
“It’s a terrible tragedy” he added.
