Martedì un ragazzo di dodici anni è stato aggredito a Derry

Aidan McGinley stava passeggiando sul ponte Craigavon in direzione Carlisle Road alle ore 11.30 quando è stato raggiunto da due uomini e gettato a terra.
Aidan ha riferito che uno dei due gli ha rifilato un pugno mentre era a terra, e poi picchiato barbaramente.
Secondo la madre del dodicenne McGinley il figlio è stato aggredito a causa di un borsone di calcio gaelico, sport da sempre legato agli ambienti cattolici.
Ha inoltre riferito che il figlio era “agitato e traumatizzato”, quando è tornato a casa.
La giacca bianca che indossava durante l’attacco era coperta di sangue fuoriuscito dal naso.
La polizia ha confermato la versione del malcapitato definendo l’aggressione come “non provocata”.
Uno degli aggressori indossava una giacca nera con cappuccio.

The mother 12-year-old boy attacked in Londonderry on Tuesday has said he was targeted because he was carrying a Gaelic football bag.
Aidan McGinley was walking over the Craigavon Bridge towards Carlisle Road at about 1130 BST when he was confronted by two men and knocked to the ground.
Aidan said one man punched him to the ground, then “booted” him twice.
Mrs McGinley said her son was “shaking and traumatised” when he returned home.
The white jacket he was wearing during the attack was covered in blood from being punched in the nose
Police have described the attack as “unprovoked”.
One of the attackers was wearing a black, hooded jacket and black training bottoms. Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
