Dissidenti repubblicani starebbero progettando una protesta in occasione della parata del 38° Reggimento Genio prevista per sabato 3 ottobre

Al termine di sei mesi di serivizio in Afghanistan, il 38° Reggimento Genio marcerà per la periferia di Antrim terminando la parata alla base armata di Masseerene, dove, il 7 marzo scorso, vennero uccisi in un attentato rivendicato dalla Real IRA, i due colleghi militari Mark Quinsey e Patrick Azimkar.
E’ trapelata la notizia poi riportata da William McCrea la scorsa notte, secondo la quale dissidenti repubblicani starebbero pianificando una protesta in occasione della manifestazione fissata per sabato 3 ottobre.
“Vedere i colleghi di Quinsey e Azimkar insultati dai sostenitori di chi li ha uccisi a sangue freddo, non si deve permettere che accada”, ha affermato McCrea.
La Parades Commission è stata invitata a negare ogni permesso alla protesta dissidente, ma non è da escludere una parata illegale, come successe lo scorso novembre quando eirigi manifestò in occasione della Belfast Homecoming Parade, senza darne alcune comunicazione alla commissione parate.

Dissident republicans are attempting to disrupt next Saturday’s parade in Antrim for the colleagues of the two soldiers murdered by terrorists in March, it has been claimed.
Returning from six months in Afghanistan, where another member of the regiment was killed, 38 Engineer Regiment will march on the outskirts of Antrim from a civic reception in Antrim Forum to their Massereene base.
Last night, local MP William McCrea said that dissident republicans are planning to protest at the event next Saturday morning.
He called for the Parades Commission to reject any applications for a protest.
However, last November, when dissident group eirigi organised a protest at the mass Belfast homecoming parade, they did not notify the commission, proceeding with an illegal parade and protest.
“To have the colleagues of Sappers Quinsey and Azimkar insulted by supporters of those who murdered them in cold blood must not be allowed to happen” said Mr McCrea.
