Un fatto piuttosto allarmante è accaduto nella contea di Tyrone, dove questa settimana un bambino di 3 anni ha trovato un contenitore di gas CS, ovvero un lacrimogeno.
Il contenitore è stato consegnato agli uffici del giornale NewsLetter, che ha poi provveduto a consegnarlo alla polizia.
Risulta che il dispositivo sia stato perso da un funzionario di polizia nel corso di disordini nella zona di Springhill Park, nell’area di Strabane. La notizia è stata confermata dal PSNI.
Allan Bresland, consigliere del DUP e membro dell’Assembly, ha dichiarato che la questione verrà discussa all’incontro del District Policing Partnership. “Penso che abbiamo bisogno di conoscere tutti i fatti che circondano questo caso. So che recentemente ci sono stati diversi scontri a Strabane e Sion Mills, e sono preoccupato circa le risorse di polizia.”

There have been calls for an investigation into how a three-year-old child allegedly found a CS canister in Co Tyrone this week.
According to a local newspaper report, the toddler found the device which was lost by a police officer during the course of a disturbance in the Springhill Park area of Strabane.
The canister was handed in to the newspaper’s office and returned to police.
A PSNI spokesman confirmed that “an item of equipment was lost and appropriate measures were taken by the officer concerned”.
DUP councillor and Assembly member Allan Bresland said: “This will be raised at our District Policing Partnership meeting. I think we need to hear all the facts surrounding this case. I know there have been several confrontations in Strabane and Sion Mills recently, and I would have concerns about police resources.”
