I DISSIDENTI RECLUTANO NUOVE LEVE ‘ON LINE’

Dissident republicans are using the web to recruit young people, it has been revealed.
Secretary of State Shaun Woodward, adressing MPs in Parliament, said the PSNI are investigating whether the illegal paramilitary organisations were using social networking sites.
In response to a question by Conservative MP Tony Whittingdale, Mr Woodward confirmed the police would take the necessary action, if required.
One such website contained material linked to republicans.
“The site has vowed to remove material they consider to be illegal, defamatory, fraudulent or which infringe or violate any individual’s rights,” he said.
“The police obviously will act if there is any evidence of a criminal nature going on here.”
“The government needed to ensure young people were aware that such groups were criminal organisations.”
Last month, three security personnel were murdered by dissident republican groups.
The Real IRA claimed responsibility for the death of two young soldiers outside Massereene Army barracks in Antrim.
PSNI constable Stephen Carroll was shot dead by the Continuity IRA.
The dissident threat is higher than at any time in the last 10 years, according to police.
