UOMO ARRESTATO, RIFIUTA IL CIBO
E’ stato confermato che uno degli uomini arrestati in relazione all’omicidio dell’agente del PSNI Stephen Carroll, sta rifiutando di alimentarsi da quando si trova ad Antrim per gli interrogatori.
Un portavoce dle Republican Sinn Fein, ha riferito di condizioni di salute in deterioramento.
La polizia ha assicurato che il detenuto riceve quotidianamente cure mediche, secondo le prescrizioni del suo medico.
Murder arrest man refusing food (BBC News Northern Ireland)
One of the men being questioned about the murder of police officer Stephen Carroll has been refusing food since last week, it has been confirmed.
The 31-year-old, who was detained in Craigavon on Tuesday, has not eaten since he was taken to Antrim for questioning.
A spokesman for Republican Sinn Fein said the man’s health was deteriorating.
The police said he has been receiving daily medical attention.
A PSNI spokesman added that arrangements were being made to let the man see his own doctor.
Dissident republicans, the Continuity IRA, said they murdered Constable Carroll.
The 48-year-old, who was married with children, was shot at Lismore Manor, in Craigavon, County Armagh, after a woman called police when her window was broken on Monday 9 March.
He died just 48 hours after two soldiers were shot dead by the Real IRA at an army base in Antrim.
