Di seguito la traduzione del comunicato del Bloody Sunday March for Justice Committee e il programma degli eventi che si svolgeranno in varie sedi a Derry
Il focus principale della Bloody Sunday March 2019 è la nostra richiesta di incarcerazione per “Sir” Michael Jackson.
Sì, i paramilitari che spararono quei colpi devono essere portati davanti alla giustizia. Ma la colpa più grave ricade sui piani alti.
Jackson, quel giorno secondo in commando nel Bogside, deve essere accusato e ritenuto colpevole di omicidio e di aver intralciato la giustizia costruendo il cover-up.
Quando apparve davanti alla seconda Bloody Sunday Inquiry, sotto Lord Saville (Rapporto Saville, ndr), nel 2003, Jackson si era fatto strada fra i ranghi fino a diventare Capo Generale dello Staff, il soldato più in alto in rango della Gran Bretagna. Dopo la pubblicazione del rapporto dell’inchiesta nel giugno 2010, il Primo Ministro conservatore David Cameron non avrebbe potuto descrivere il massacro di Derry come “ingiustificato e ingiustificabile” se il dito della colpa fosse stato puntato contro Jackson.
Saville condannò i paracadutisti semplici e lasciò le alte sfere intoccate. La solita vecchia storia. Le cose non possono rimanere così: lo dobbiamo alle vittime.
Poniamo la Bloody Sunday nel contesto di Ballymurphy, della strage di Shankill, di quella di Loughinisland, di quella del McGurk Bar e tante altre. E la mettiamo inoltre in relazione con gli assalti ai cittadini da parte dello Stato in altri luoghi: la collusione e copertura del massacro di tifosi del Liverpool a Hillsborough; l’implacabile massacro di giovani di colore da parte della polizia negli USA; la pulizia etnica, tuttora in corso, dei Palestinesi da parte dello Stato d’Israele; la persecuzione dei Rohingya in Myannmar; e le stragi di profughi nel Mediterraneo, mentre tentano di fuggire da povertà e guerra.
Il mondo è insozzato dal sangue. Noi marciamo per ripulire la terra dalla guerra e dall’ingiustizia.
La Bloody Sunday March non è partitica. Ognuno ha diritto alla sua prospettiva. Lanciamo un appello alle persone di tutte gli schieramenti perché si uniscano a noi domenica 27 gennaio per lanciare il segnale che la nostra campagna non avrà fine fin quando le famiglie di tutti coloro che hanno perso la vita a causa della violenza di Stato non avranno ottenuto verità e giustizia.
Vogliamo Jackson in carcere, non per vendetta o ritorsione ma perché quando lo Stato uccide i suoi cittadini deve essere chiamato a risponderne.

Context 2019
The main focus of the 2019 Bloody Sunday march is on our demand for “Sir” Michael Jackson to be jailed.
Yes, the paratroopers who fired the shots must be brought to book. But the greater guilt lies with the top brass.
Jackson, in the Bogside as second-in-command on the day, should be charged with murder and with perverting the law by procuring the cover-up.
By the time he appeared before the second Bloody Sunday Inquiry, under Lord Saville in 2003, Jackson had risen through the ranks to become Chief of the General Staff, Britain’s top soldier. Following the publication of the inquiry’s report in June 2010, Tory prime minister David Cameron couldn’t have described the Derry massacre as “unjustified and unjustifiable” if the finger of blame had been pointed at Jackson.
Saville damned rank-and-file paratroopers and let the upper echelons off scot-free. The same old story. We owe it to the victims not to let this stand.
We place Bloody Sunday in the context of Ballymurphy, the Shankill, Loughinisland, McGurk’s Bar etc. And we relate it, too, to State assaults on citizens elsewhere: the collusion by cover-up in the killing of Liverpool fans at Hillsborough; the relentless massacre of young black people by police in the US; the continuing ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by the Israeli state; the persecution of the Rohingya in Myannmar; and the drowning in the Mediterranean of refugees fleeing poverty and war.
The world is awash with blood. We march for the cleansing of war and injustice from the earth.
The Bloody Sunday March is not party-political. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective. We urge people of all persuasions to join with us once again on Sunday, January 27th to signal that we won’t stop campaigning until the families of all who have lost their lives to State violence have truth and justice.
We want Jackson jailed, not for revenge or retaliation but because when the State kills its citizens it must be held to account.
