IRA/IFA: LAPSUS DI MARTIN McGUINNESS, GAFFE A STORMONT
McGuinness makes IRA gaffe in Stormont (News Letter)
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness made an unfortunate slip of the tongue during an Assembly debate on Tuesday.
While commending the work of the Irish Football Association (IFA), Mr McGuinness mistakenly used the term IRA instead.
He said: “I think the work that is happening with the IRA…sorry IFA…”
The mistake was followed by loud laughter and jeering in the chamber.
Mr McGuinness then joked that he wanted to reiterate “they have gone away, you know”.
