The Five Demands

Mi trovo d’accordo nell’affermare che la marcia di ieri abbia riscosso una grande partecipazione, è chiaro che i giovani repubblicani/nazionalisti si stiano avvicinando al RNU. Eravamo al corrente della “minaccia” dell’UVF e avevamo pianificato di affrontarla, ma eravamo (erroneamente) convinti che la PSNI avrebbe tenuto ben separate le due parti. L’Orange Order ha gravi domande a cui rispondere, dal momento che ha permesso a membri ben noti dell’UVF di usare l’Orange Hall per scattare fotografie. Il modo in cui la PSNI ha affrontato la conrro-parata lealista lascia molto a desiderare.

Spero che la St. Patrick’s Church non divenga la nuova zona calda, e che i loyal orders tolgano all’UVF il controllo delle proprie stesse organizzazioni e lo riprendano, giungendo ad una soluzione di comune accordo con i residenti di Carrickhill, se davvero questi ultimi lo desiderano.

I agree that yesterdays march was well attended and it was clear that nationalist/republican youth are gravitating towards RNU. We were aware of the “threat” from the UVF and we had plans in place to deal with it, we believed (wrongly) that the PSNI would have had a sterile area keeping the two sides well apart. The Orange Order have serious questions to answer in allowing well known UVF members to use the Orange Hall to record pictures. The PSNIs handling of the loyalist counter demo leaves alot to be desired.

I hope that St Patrick church does not become the new flashpoint and that the loyal orders regain control of their own organisation from the UVF and come to a local solution with the residents of Carrickhill, if indeed the residents wish to.

On the 29th RNU members will be standing with the local residents of Carrick hill who supported us yesterday.
