L’allerta si è trasformata in un falso allarme. Andersonstown Road riaperta al traffico

L’allerta è scoccata con il ritrovamento di un dispositivo sospetto presso la sede del Community Restorative Justice Ireland, avente sede in Andersonstown Road a West Belfast.
Artificieri e agenti della PSNI subito all’opera nel tentativo di mettere in sicurezza l’intera area. Andersonstown Road chiusa agli incroci con Dunmisk Park, Moorland Park, Slemish Way e St. Agnes’s Drive. Evacuate abitazioni ed esercizi commerciali.
“Nel corso degli anni, abbiamo ricevuto molti tipi di minacce rivolte contro di noi, da varie fonti a causa del lavoro che facciamo”, ha dichiarato Harry Maguire, direttore ad interim dell’organizzazione che auto definisce “gruppo di dialogo”.
“Siamo un gruppo comunitario impegnato nella risoluzione dei conflitti, che sfida la criminalità e i comportamenti anti-sociali (droga, reati a sfondo sessuale, ecc ndr) e dovremmo vedere noi stessi al centro del mirino a causa di questo lavoro.”

Security alert in west Belfast (UTV)
A security alert has been sparked in west Belfast after the discovery of a suspect object at a community group’s office.
Army bomb officers and police are attending the scene outside the offices of the group, Community Restorative Justice Ireland, on the Andersonstown Road opposite Casement Park.
A number of businesses and homes in the vicinity have been evacuated.
Andersonstown Road has been closed at its junction with Dunmisk Park, Moorland Park, Slemish Way and St. Agnes’s Drive.
Harry Maguire, the organisation’s acting director, said the device was left on the front shutter of the office.
“We have had many sorts of threats levelled against us through different sources over the years because of the work we do,” he said.
“We’re a community conflict resolution group that challenges crime and anti-social behaviour and we would see ourselves being targeted because of that work.”
He described the organisation as “a dialogue group” which challenged negative behaviour within the community including drug dealing and sex crime investigations.
