Obiettivo dell’attacco è stata la Liogoniel Orange Hall in Crumlin Road a Belfast

La PSNI sta percorrendo la pista settaria nelle indagini sull’incendio che ha devastato la Liogoniel Orange Hall in Crumlin Road. Il fuoco ha avuto origine da un edificio nelle immediate vicinanze dello stabile. La Hall era attualmente inutilizzata a causa di un precedente incendio.
Un portavoce dell’Ordine d’Orange ha dichiarato: “Quello che è chiaro è che questo è un altro attacco alla cultura Orange.  Può anche essere un tentativo di creare tensione all’interno della comunità e invitiamo chiunque abbia informazioni circa l’attacco, a contattare la polizia in modo che possa prendere i colpevoli. ”
Condanna anche da parte di Nigel Dodds (DUP), “La nostra società si sta muovendo in avanti per un futuro migliore e non possiamo permettere che una piccola minoranza svolga atti di odio e distruzione”.

Orange Order condemns arson attack (Belfast Telegraph)
The Orange Order has condemned arsonists who targeted one of its halls in what police branded a sectarian attack.
The Ligoniel Orange Hall on the Crumlin Road in Belfast was extensively damaged after a neighbouring derelict building was set alight.
Police said they believe the incident was a sectarian attack and they are treating it as a hate crime.
The Orange Order said the hall had been largely disused following a previous attack.
A spokesman for the Order said: “What is clear is that this is another attack on the Orange culture. It may well be an attempt to create community tension and we would urge anyone with information about the attack to contact the police so they can catch the culprits.”
North Belfast MP Nigel Dodds condemned the attack and also appealed for the public to help the police investigation.
“Our society is moving forward to a better future and we cannot allow a tiny minority to carry out acts of hatred and destruction,” said the DUP representative.
