Il Republican Sinn Féin si opporà attivamente alla visita della regina d’Inghilterra in qualsiasi zona d’Irlanda. Come parte della sua campagna, il Republican Sinn Féin terrà un picchetto davanti ai cancelli della Leinster House Mercoledì 9 Marzo 16:00-18:00.
In una dichiarazione il presidente del Republican Sinn Féin Des Dalton, ha dichiarato: “La proposta di visita della Regina d’Inghilterra nelle 26 Contee è destinato a segnalare che l’occupazione britannica e la divisione dell’Irlanda ora è normale e accettabile.
Ci opporremo ad una visita del Capo di Stato Britannico, mentre questo stato continua ad occupare l’Irlanda e la partizione .
“Il Republican Sinn Féin condurrà un’ attiva campagna di opposizione e inciterà tutte le persone di mentalità repubblicana lungo tutta l’Irlanda ad uscire e a fare sentire la propria voce di protesta.
“Nel 1911 patrioti come James Connolly, Maud Gonne e Helena Maloney e altri, guidarono la resistenza repubblicana e progressista, ad un simile tentativo di pacificare l’Irlanda con una visita reale britannica. Lo hanno fatto sotto l’insegna: ‘Tu non sei ancora conquistata cara terra’ e nel 2011 coloro che non sono stati né comprati né intimidati invieranno lo stesso chiaro messaggio.
“La continuazione del dominio britannico in Irlanda è un ostacolo per raggiungere una equa e duratura soluzione per tutto il popolo irlandese e deve essere rimosso se vogliamo seriamente la creazione di una vera democrazia economica e politica per tutta l’Irlanda.”

Republican Sinn Féin will be actively opposing a visit by the Queen of England to any part of Ireland. As part of its campaign Republican Sinn Féin will be holding a picket at the gates of Leinster House on Wednesday March 9 from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. In a statement the President of Republican Sinn Féin Des Dalton said: “The proposed visit of the Queen of England to the 26-County State is intended to signal that British occupation and the partition of Ireland is now normal and acceptable. A visit by the head of the British State while that state continues to occupy and partition
Ireland be opposed.
“Republican Sinn Féin will lead an active campaign of opposition and will be calling on all Republican minded people throughout Ireland to come out and make their voices hear in protest.
“In 1911 patriots such as James Connolly, Maud Gonne and Helena Maloney among others led Republican and progressive resistance to a similar attempt to pacify Ireland with a British Royal visit. They did so under the banner ‘Thou art not conquered yet dear land’ and in 2011 those who have neither been purchased nor intimated will be sending out the same clear message.
“ Continued British Rule in Ireland is an obstacle to achieving a just and lasting settlement for all the Irish people and must be removed if we are serious about creating real All-Ireland economic and political democracy.”
