Poco prima delle 2.00 di lunedì 31 agosto, una folta folla si è raccolta al Diamond e in strade limitrofe assalendo sei agenti del Police Service of Northern Ireland con lanci di bottiglie e razzi. Due gli agenti feriti, anche se non in modo serio.
Gli animi sono stati sedati alle 3 circa dopo che gli agenti sotto il tiro dei rivoltosi, hanno chiamato rinforzi a protezione a comuni membri della comunità locale coinvolti nei disordini e per dirigere il traffico.
Diciannove gli arresti. I fermati sono poi stati rilasciati in attesa di rapporto.

Officers injured in Ballycastle riot (U TV)
Nineteen people have been arrested after a number of police officers were injured during an outbreak of rioting in Ballycastle in the early hours of Monday.
A large crowd at the Diamond and streets leading onto the Diamond began throwing bottles and other missiles at police shortly before 2am.
Six officers were assaulted or hit with missiles and two sustained injuries, which are not said to be serious.
Police had to call in reinforcements to protect traffic and members of the public caught up in the violence.
Calm was restored at around 3am in the seaside town on the north Antrim coast.
Nineteen people were arrested, mostly for riotous and disorderly behaviour.
They were released pending report or street bailed, police said.
An investigation is being carried out into the incident and police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
The trouble erupted just hours before the start of the Ould Lammas Fair, which claims to be one of Ireland’s oldest street festivals.
