Un uomo di 33 anni interrogato dalla Garda dopo il ritrovamento di munizioni nella sua auto

La polizia irlandese ha fermato il fuoristrada di un uomo nei pressi di Dundalk, nella contea di Louth, mentre si stava dirigendo al Nord.
Il fermo è avvenuto martedì scorso alle 16.30 circa nell’area di Henestown. L’uomo è stato interrogato nella stazione della Garda di Drogheda, dove è stato detenuto in custodia per 3 giorni.
Si presume che l’arresto sia avvenuto nell’ambito di indagini sull’attività dissidente.
Ritrovati nell’auto alcune munizioni e passamontagna. Rinvenuta nessuna traccia di esplosivo.

Newry man arrested over ammunition (U TV)
A 33-year-old man from Newry is being questioned by Gardai after ammunition was found in his vehicle.
Armed police stopped the 4×4 on the M1 near Dundalk, Co Louth, as it was being driven north.
The man was arrested in an area known as Heynestown at approximately 4.30pm on Tuesday.
He is being quizzed at Drogheda Garda Station, where he can be held for up to three days.
It is understood the operation was targeting dissident republican activities in the area.
A small quantity of bullets and a balaclava were recovered in the vehicle, which was seized by gardai.
Forensic officers have examined the SUV for any trace of explosives.
