Si terrà a breve un incontro tra il Primo Ministro nordirlandese Peter Robinson ed il Primo Ministro inglese Gordon Brown, per discutere del decentramento dei poteri di polizia e giustizia.
Punto cardine dei loro colloqui saranno i finanziamenti che deriveranno da tale operazione.
La scorsa settimana Robinson ha parlato con Brown, ed ha dichiarato di essere ancora in attesa dei dati definitivi da presentare.
Si auspica un accordo entro breve, per permettere il trasferimento dei poteri di polizia e giustizia, entro l’autunno.
E’ prevista entro la fine del mese una riunione congiunta tra Peter Robison, Martin McGuinness (vice primo ministro nordirlandese) e Gordon Brown.

First Minister Peter Robinson is to meet Prime Minister Gordon Brown in London later to discuss devolution of policing and justice powers. The issue of how devolution will be paid for is likely to dominate their meeting. Mr Robinson hopes this meeting will move the talks forward. He wants the prime minister to outline exactly what monies will be available once policing and justice powers are devolved to the assembly. Last week Mr Robinson spoke to the prime minister and he said he was still waiting for the final figures to be tabled. In response government sources said they remained hopeful that the budget could be agreed shortly so that devolution could take place as soon as possible, ideally in the autumn. It is expected Mr Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness will hold a joint meeting with the prime minister before the end of the month.
