E’ stata fermata da agenti di polizia in tenuta anti sommossa, una protesta di un gruppo di 50 repubblicani contro una manifestazione a celebrazione della Giornata delle Forze Armate presso la Belfast City Hall.
Il PSNI ha dichiarato che nel momento in cui il gruppo è sceso in strada, la loro protesta si è trasformata in una ‘parata illegale’.
La folla si è dispersa in breve tempo, dopo l’esplosione di alcuni spari.
I repubblicani stavano protestando contro la bandiera della Giornata delle Forze Armate, issata alla City Hall.

Republicans who were intending to protest at an event celebrating Armed Forces Day at Belfast City Hall were stopped by police. A crowd of about 50 people walked down Castle Street in the city centre, where they were blocked by officers in riot gear on Saturday morning. The police said that because the group stepped onto the road their protest became an “illegal parade”. The crowd dispersed a short time later after some shouting. The republicans were protesting over the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag at City Hall.
