Device thrown at police in Craigavon (UTV)

A device has been thrown at police during a search operation in Craigavon.

It happened in the Drumbeg area at around 10am on Monday.

None of the officers were injured.

Inspector Philip Shepherd said children were nearby when the device was thrown.

He said: “Those who carried out this attack have shown callous disregard for the safety of the local community and my officers, especially as a number of children were close by at the time of the attack.”
