Riprenderà oggi il processo ai Four Derry, ovvero Gary Donnelly , Michael Gallagher (28),  Martin Francis O’Neill(40) , and Patrick John McDaid (38).
Il processo era stato aggiornato per l’indisponibilità di un detective del Garda (William Sisk  n.d.r.), a fornire la propria testimonianza in aula.  Fu lui ad effettuare la perquisizione del furgone transit fermato nei pressi di Bridgend.
Il difensore di O’Neill, Diarmaid Mc Guinness, ha chiesto alla corte di verificare eventuali illegalità compiute nell’atto della perquisizione. Dovrebbe essergli permesso far valere le proprie ragioni durante l’udienza.

Real IRA trial adjourned
The trial of four Derry men accused of IRA membership was adjourned until Tuesday at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday(fri.) after the court was told that a garda witness was not available until then.
The four men were arrested during a garda operation into a Real IRA “show of strength” for members of the media near the Derry/Donegal border last March.
The court was told that two of the men later told gardai they were helping the makers of a BBC “Spotlight” documentary.
The four Derry City men are Gary Donnelly (38), Kildrum Gardens, Michael Gallagher (28), Sackville Court, Martin Francis O’Neill(40) , Colmcille Court, and Patrick John McDaid (38), Marlborough St.
They have pleaded not guilty to membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Oghlaigh na hEireann, otherwise the IRA, on March 16th.
Prosecuting counsel Mr Patrick Marrinan SC told the court yesterday(fri.) that Detective Garda William Sisk who was due to give evidence of searching a white Transit van stopped near Bridgend was in Germany and would not be available until Tuesday.
Defence counsel Mr Diarmaid Mc Guinness SC, for O’Neill, asked the court to rule on the legality of the search of the van. He submitted that the court had heard no evidence that the search was carried out lawfully.
Mr Justice Paul Butler, presiding, said that the court would allow Mr Mc Guinness to make his application later in the trial.
The trial resumes on Tuesday.
