MAIREAD FARRELLE
Mairead Farrell di East Belfast é stata una volontaria del Provisional Irish Republican Army. Fu imprigionata nel 1976 (19 anni) per l’attentato ad un hotel dove alloggiavan membri della forze britanniche. Uno dei suoi amici, Sean McDermott, è stato ucciso durante l’operazione. Nel 1986 è stata scarcerata ed è tornata al servizio attivo nell’IRA. Questa volta, in qualità di membro dell General Headquarters Staff. Durante una missione a Gibilterra per organizzare un attentato contro i soldati britannici, lei e due suoi compagni, Sean Savage e Daniel McCann, sono stati uccisi dalla SAS.
Mairéad Farrell was from west Belfast and was a volunteer in the Provisional Irish Republican Army. She was imprisoned in 1976 (aged 19) for carrying out the bombing of a hotel were members of the British forces were staying. One of her friends; Sean McDermott, was shot dead during the operation. In 1986 she was released from prison and returned to active service with the IRA. This time as a member of the elite, General Headquarters Staff. While on a mission in Gibraltar to carry out an attack against British soldiers, she and her two comrades Sean Savage and Daniel McCann, were murdered by the SAS.

MILLTOWN CEMETERY, BELFAST

The Milltown Cemetery attack (also known as the Milltown Massacre) was a gun and grenade attack in Belfast’s Milltown Cemetery by Ulster Defence Association member Michael Stone, during the funerals of three Provisional IRA members (16th March 1988).
