Allerta sicurezza questa mattina a Armagh
Isolata la ‘The Mall’ area ad Armagh dopo l’allarme sicurezza scattato nelle prima ore di questa mattina per il ritrovamento di un oggetto sospetto.
Chiuse anche le scuole presenti nell’area.
William Irwin (DUP) definendo gli autori del fatto “profondamente irresponsabili”, ha affermato che quello degli allarmi bomba sta diventando un problema molto serio: “sembra esserci una pausa per un pò di tempo, e poi il problema solleva di nuovo brutalmente la testa” ed ha aggiunto: “Nonostante il fatto si sia trattato di una bufala, dato che è stato collocato vicino al Cenotaph e in una zona dove un sacco di gente si sposta a piedi e anche vicino a un ingresso della scuola, dimostra come in realtà possano essere insidiosi questi criminali”.
Bomb alert an ‘elaborate hoax’ (NewsLetter)
A bomb alert in Armagh has been deemed a hoax following a security operation.
The Mall area of the city was cordoned off for much of Monday morning after suspicious object was found during the early hours.
The security alert cause much disruption in the area forcing a local school to close.
The vicinity has since reopened to traffic.
Condemning the perpetrators as “deeply irresponsible”, DUP William Irwin said: “This is becoming a real problem in around Armagh City and there seems to be a lull for a while and then the problem raises its ugly head again.
“We had the motor find only last week on Friary Road and now we have yet more disruption with this hoax device.
“Despite the fact this was a hoax, given it has been placed close to the Cenotaph and in an area where a lot of people would walk and also close to a school entrance, really illustrates just how obnoxious these criminals are,” he added.
