AGGREDITO UNO DEGLI IMPUTATI NELLA CAUSA CIVILE SULLA STRAGE DI OMAGH

Seamus Daly è stato ricoverato in ospedale dopo essere stato aggredito venerdì notte, da un gruppo di uomini a Carrickmacross (Co. Monaghan).
L’uomo è uno dei 5 imputati nella causa civile sulla strage di Omagh, di cui verrà letta la sentenza la prossima settimana.
John Ware, reporter di Panorama della BBC che ha esaminato l’attentato, ha dichiarato alla polizia che Daly è stato il l’organizzatore ‘pratico’ della strage. Il giornalista ha aggiunto che le prove relative al suo cellulare, lo collegherebbero agli attentati di Lisburn e Banbridge, oltre che a quello di Omagh.
Nel 2000 John Ware chiese un confronto con Daly, ma quest’ultimo ha rifiutato di rilasciare un qualsiasi commento.
Nel 2004, un tribunale di Dublino ha condannato Daly a tre anni e mezzo di prigione, in seguito alla sua ammissione di essere membro di un’organizzazione illegale.

Omagh bombing suspect attacked (BBC News Northern Ireland)
A man accused of having a role in the Omagh bombing has been attacked in the Irish Republic.
Seamus Daly required hospital treatment after he was beaten up by a number of men in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan on Friday night.
A civil case brought by some of the Omagh families accuses him and four others of participating in the attack which killed 29 people.
Judgement in the case is expected to be delivered next week.
BBC Panorama reporter John Ware, who has investigated the bombing, has said police believed Daly was the “hands-on” organiser.
Panorama also revealed that mobile phone evidence linked Daly to car bombings in Lisburn and Banbridge as well as Omagh.
In 2000 John Ware confronted Daly but he refused to make any comment.
In 2004 a Dublin court sentenced Daly to three and a half years in jail after he admitted being a member of an illegal organisation.
